In 2021, after facing drastic and serious life changes, our lives changed completely. Our home-based 'Artisans Obsessions' Business was created with products already being used at home, allowing us to share with others the simplicity and diversity of ways to care for ourselves and others, daily.
As you can imagine, being unable to bring in some income affected our family. To make matters worse, at the same time, my father-in-law started to quickly deteriorate, which forced my husband
to fully focus on taking care of him and not be able to work outside the home. With time, my father-in-law went to be with the Lord.
On the other hand, I slowly started to improve, finally being able to do the simple things on my own, unsupervised, was a big accomplishment! The things we take for granted!!!!
By the way, all of this was also during COVID-19...
So that's how and when ARTISANS OBSESSIONS came to life!
I have always been creative and determined. One day while having bad muscle spasms on my neck and shoulder, I remember my son warming up a heat pack my mom had made off an old sock-- I thought to myself, "Wow, this helps immensely with spasms relief..." but at the same time I thought "... this is an old and ugly sock!"-- I remember immediately asking my husband to set up my sewing machine, and within an hour, I had put together 2 heat/cold rice packs! BUT I had added some essential oils for relaxation, of course-- If you know me, you know how I LOVE my essential oils!!
As time went by, I started to make more microwavable heat and cold rice packs; each one looked better, smelled better, and lasted longer. Of course, it seems to become even more creative.
Quickly enough, I started making other things, like coasters, decor, and even baking... You name it! I was making it!!!
I decided to offer my products to family and friends-- they knew we were going through a tough time and lovingly supported us by sharing our new business. However, pretty soon, their family and friends were hearing about us and my story. They were coming across my products and started to order for themselves or as gifts.
Although my business is small, every single sale has allowed me to help support my family. Most importantly, it has allowed me to be home with our youngest child and homeschool her. What our family went through was difficult for all of us, but it certainly affected our youngest on a deeper level.
Fast forward to 2023, another "event" happened... this landed me in the hospital for a week!
At this point, I was devastated. I was relying on my husband to cover most of our family's financial needs. So I was more determined than ever to grow my business!
All your support is greatly appreciated. If you take anything from my story, share it with others, hoping that we encourage those going through a similar situation. My hope, gratitude, and trust are in Jesus- and he has most certainly taken care of us every step of the way.
Please follow us on Facebook, Instagram, & TikTok. There, I share updates on the process of our crafty products, baked goods, and more.
Love,
